MUST-READ: Ryan Cayabyab expresses gratitude to Regine Velasquez

By Marah Ruiz

Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez celebrated her birthday last Sunday, April 22.

Her good friend, composer and conductor Ryan Cayabyab took to social media to greet her a happy birthday.

His message not only contained well-wishes for Regine, but also celebrated her long and prolific career.

"In behalf of our many Filipino songwriters, thank you, Regine, for breathing life to our songs. Thank you for creating magic and painting varied hues and emotions to songs that we have written," he wrote.

He also shared how Regine seemingly has a magic touch when it comes to songs.

"Araw, Gabi. I wrote this for my wife Emmy on her last birthday as a single person before we got married. We recorded it and gave away 45s during our wedding. Nonoy Z originally and beautifully sang it. But you know what? In its 33 years as a song, it has never attained the popularity that it has reached now. And it is all because of you. You sang it...oh so beautifully, and suddenly it has become an anthem for singers who are in love," he shares.
