EXCLUSIVE: Megan Young wishes for equal rights for LGBT community

"Siyempre I'm an ally so full support ako d'yan," said Megan Young in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com about her views toward the LGBT community.

According to Megan, she wants to use her influence to champion equal rights for the queer community.

"I have a lot of people in my family that are from the LGBT community and I always want to push for a better future for them so that equal 'yung rights nating lahat.

"Of course, I'm put in a position where I'm privileged and I want them to be able to have that privilege na hindi natin sasabihin na they're from the minority.

"Sana in the future, we'll all be able to have the same things and people won't discriminate. Sana ma-push 'yung mga laws na kailangan natin for the community," she said.

The Kapuso actress also added that she hopes for others to change their negative mindset towards the LGBT community.

"I know that there will be a better tomorrow, we just have to continue fighting for it and I have a lot of friends that are very active activists in it. I completely support them.

"Love is love and I hope sana ma-push 'yung mga rights nila and people see past the image people have for LGBT. We're all just people and we all wanna live freely, we all wanna live beautifully and positively," Megan proudly stated.

This Pride Month, Megan stands as a staunch ally with the LGBT community as the fight for their equal rights continue.
