Bongbong Marcos unwell after return from Spain, still waiting for COVID-19 test results

Former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos trended on Twitter Philippines after reports of him testing for COVID-19 aired this morning on DZBB Super Radyo.

Senator Imee Marcos spoke on behalf of Bongbong and stated, “He came back from Spain unwell. Finally got a test two nights ago, getting better at home, wala pang result.

When asked about rumors of her and mother Imelda Marcos seeking medical consultation in Singapore, Imee answered, “Nah, mom and I are okay.”

Imee also added that she only learned about her brother's condition through their family Viber group.

Meanwhile, DZBB reporter and anchor Nimfa Ravelo, twitted what appears to be an official statement from Senator Bongbong himself.

The text in the photo read: "I am deeply touched and overwhelmed by your concern over my condition. Don't worry, I am doing ok and contrary to popular belief, I am home on self-quarantine.

"As my sister said, a few days ago I was feeling a little under the weather and as a result went to get checked. We are still waiting for the results.

"Fortunately, I feel much better and am getting stronger by the day. I have no doubt in my mind that this partly due to the excellent work of the nurses and doctors who helped me during this time.

"I am inspired and moved by the show of courage and commitment of our health workers. You are true heroes in these most trying times. Thank you!!

The statement ended with: "I am hoping and praying for everyone's safety and good health. Please don't let the sacrifices of health workers and other frontliners go to waste. Let us all stay at home.

"Again, thank you for your love and concern."
