Just like the rest of the world, Kapuso couple Juancho Trivino and Joyce Pring are stuck in their condo unit in Makati shrouded from the public due to COVID-19.
That's why when GMANetwork.com caught up with them via video call, Juancho and Joyce admit that it has been quite a struggle for them to see other people fight against an invisible enemy.
Juancho confesses, “Ako individually, I go through a lot of worries. Siyempre, inevitable na 'yun.
“Kahit na hindi ako mismo 'yung nahihirapan, this isn't something that we're prepared for na kahit ilang beses natin itong pag-usapan, mahirap pa rin talaga kapag pinagdadaanan.”
He then professed that he's been going through a lot of anxiousness lately due to the uncertainty of the virus.
And with the showbiz industry in a temporary halt since the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, Juancho says he can't help but worry about his resources especially now that he has a family.
“Me, personally, working in the entertainment business, 'di ba parang mahirap ma-foresee kung paano babalik ang normal na tapings o normal na events after this quarantine.
“'Tsaka siyempre dahil nga depleted ang tapings at events siyempre magwo-worry rin kami kahit papaano sa finances namin in the future now that we're married. Not that mahihirapan kami or nahihirapan na kami as of now. But, siyempre, we're looking into the future.
“I believe that alam naman natin lahat na it's something that we cannot control and all we can do is have faith and ibahin muna ang perspective mo.
“Hindi lang naman kasi tayo, hindi lang naman kami ang nahihirapan. Maraming tao sa buong mundo ang nahihirapan as well.”
Joyce then went on to say that keeping her emotions in check and knowing the root cause of anxiety helps give her perspective towards the situation
“Yeah, siguro lahat naman ng tao makakarelate na this has been a struggle for everyone siguro iba-iba lang ang levels ng struggle.
“I think 'yung feeling ng anxiety didn't come in the first two weeks? 'Di ba para siyang dumating ng mga third o fourth week na.
“Feeling ko nag-settle down 'yung height of everything where everyone was kind of busy nanonood tayo lahat ng news. By the third or fourth week, you kind of settle in the house and you realize na this is the new 'norm' that people are experiencing you know?
“This is the kind of thing that people you don't know from the other side of the world is experiencing.
“May nabasa ako na news bit na 4.5 billion people from all over the world are stuck or confined in their homes. I think that thought in itself gives you anxiety.”
To see the light in the situation, Juancho and Joyce proceeded by advising their fans to simply count their blessings --- both big and small.
Joyce added, “It has been such a blessing na meron kaming God na kinakapitan at siyempre kasal na kami. So we have each other to help us out.
“Siguro ang pinakamahirap is just seeing other people suffer and 'yung mga may sakit kawawa rin talaga 'yung mga ganun. At siyempre 'yung mga frontliners na pagod na. Pangalawa, ay hindi namin nakikita 'yung family namin. I think this has to be the longest time that we haven't had the chance to see our family.
“But then again, I think it is such a blessing that we have the technology and social media.
“Isipin mo si Juancho lang ang makikita ko for 30 days! Mahirap 'yun. So I think it's a blessing still.
“We can still see the brighter side of things even though it's very dim and I think that's what's important. Kasi if you don't see the brighter side of things and you don't have hope, mahirap talagang bumangon right now.
“We need to be resilient.”
