People have been very creative lately when it comes to crafting COVID-19 safety measures and protection. One of them is Iloilo governor Arthur Defensor Jr., who clearly had a light bulb moment recently when he designed a fabricated divider to help motorcycle drivers and backriders observe physical or social distancing.

The fabricated divider is installed between the motorcycle driver and backrider. It is made of a non-porous, transparent material that serves as a protective barrier.
The design also includes handle grips that passengers can hold on to during the ride.
This move comes after the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) prohibited backriding on motorcycles during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Iloilo government has already submitted its proposal to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on June 5, hoping that this would change the government's position on the ban on motorcycle backriding.
