In a Facebook post, the iconic restaurant and catering business said, “So it is with great sadness that we are announcing that effective August 1, 2020 Shangri-La Finest Chinese Cuisine will cease its operations, due for the most part to the challenges brought about by the on-going pandemic, which has plagued not only our country, but the entire world as well.

“We will cease operations but the memories we had with you will be embedded in our hearts and minds.”

The last day of operation of Shangri-La Restaurant will be on July 31, 2020, for both dine-in and take-out services.

Among other restaurants who ceased operations after being hit hard by the pandemic are Baguio City's Forest House and Manila's Century Seafood Restaurant, which will only remain closed until further notice.

In Shangri-La Restaurant's farewell post, they shared a video that celebrates the memorable 37 years spent with their loyal customers and beloved clients.
