Juan, a Philippine-born Hong Kong Chinese TV and online personality, talked about the things he learned from his alma mater, University of the Philippines on his post last Saturday, August 1.

He shared, “Every time I look at this photo, not only do I see a baby boy (haha!), but also someone full of curiosity, full of excitement, and full of HOPE.

“Because that's what you feel when you graduate from a university -- especially if you're from UP -- you are eager to get out there and offer yourself to society, with the dream of changing the country, if not the world.”

Richard Juan added that being an Isko (Iskolar ng Bayan), the importance of giving back was instilled in him.

“At UP, I was taught the value of education, the beauty of giving back, the importance of integrity, and also the power of working together. I still hold on to these lessons every day and I hope everyone applies these values too, especially at such an uncertain time we are facing.”

With all the uncertainty we are facing right now and the road we are traveling seems dark, Richard Juan stressed that we should not lose hope no matter what.

“Things might be dark now, but we just got to navigate through it to find the light because in every chaos, new opportunities reveal themselves along the way. I wish you don't lose that curiosity, that excitement, and most importantly, that HOPE.”
