Steve Dailisan welcomes new career with a new airline
After being laid off at his previous job due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, former GMA news anchor Steve Dailisan now has plenty to smile about as he takes a new role as a public affairs employee with a new airline.
On Facebook, Steve revealed his new uniform along with the words, “I am RED-y.”
He said, “'Red' has always been associated with courage, passion, and adventure. It is usually painted in the sky at dusk --- the beginning of a bright new day.
“A few months ago, I thought it was the end of my much-loved aviation career. Tears were shed, and so the vision turned blurry.
“But my good friend Claire Delfin told me, 'Steve, bleak times are not always bad.' I figured, I will find my way back, so I carried on each day with high hopes, 'Laban lang!'”
In a span of eight months, Steve shared that he learned how to be “tough, resilient, and bullish” because that's what they taught in flying school.
He then started “framing out my resume” and thought of going back to broadcast journalism to “practice my corporate communication skills.”
Throughout the lockdown, Steve admitted that fighting to stay afloat --- opening a business, focusing on his vlog, etc. --- helped prepare him for a new adventure.
He said, “Today, I am RED-y for yet another challenging role -- to be with you, and empathize with you, our flying public.
“I am more than RED-y to provide you relevant information to ensure your safety, comfort, and #Allstar experience amid this pandemic.
“Indeed, it's never too late to dream big, to reach the sky, and be with your stars. Lord, whatever comes my way, I am #Allstar RED-y.”
Steve Dailisan left the network in 2018. He received his pilot's license in April 2019.
Congratulations, Steve.
