The largest chocolate museum in the world is in Zurich, Switzerland

The Lindt Home of Chocolate museum in Zurich, Switzerland is probably one of the best and sweetest things to happen in 2020. It was formally opened on September 13 by tennis champion Roger Federer and is said to be the largest chocolate museum in the world.

The 65,000-square-foot museum surely lives up to its name as it also houses the world's largest chocolate fountain, which is 30-feet tall and has more than 1,500 kgs. of real melted chocolate flowing over a giant Lindor ball.

The museum also houses the largest Lindt chocolate shop, which measures 500 square meters or about a quarter of a football field. So, you can definitely shop for chocolates for your loved ones.

One of the highlights that you should definitely check out in the museum is the interactive exhibition where you can learn more about the origins of cocoa, the Swiss chocolate pioneers, and the seven chocolate worlds.

After which, you can sample some sweet confections at the Praline Tasting room.

Plus, you can also learn how to create your very own chocolate from the best chocolatiers, in a class for up to 60 participants at the Chocolateria.

And if you're worried about suffering from sweetness overload, fear not because there is a café inside the museum, where they will also be serving non-chocolate items such as salads, toasties, and quiches.

Tickets to the world's largest chocolate museum are priced at 15 francs (around 800 pesos) for adults and 10 francs (around 530 pesos) for kids. Children under the age of seven can enter for free.

Although travel and tourism have yet to return to pre-pandemic normal, it seems like the Home of Chocolate is bound to become the ultimate destination for chocolate lovers all over the world.

So, if you have plans to travel to Zurich, Switzerland post-pandemic, you should certainly include it to your places to visit.
