Michelle Dee spent PhP 250,000 for her luggage in Miss World pageant

In November 2019, Philippine-bet Michelle Dee flew to London to compete in the Miss World and represent the country on the international stage.

The 24-year-old spent a whole month in London with seven pieces of luggage in tow to make sure she's prepared for the scheduled activities the Organization has prepared for all its contestants.

Almost 10 months later, the Glow Up host revealed that she spent a whopping $5,000 (almost PhP 250,000) for all her bags during the trip.

She revealed in her YouTube vlog, “I'm gonna be completely honest with you guys and I'm not exaggerating the number, I spent around $4,000 to $5,000 to get all my luggage to London.

“It broke my bank.”

Michelle revealed that the hefty spending was because she had to change airlines at the last minute.

“I was supposed to fly out with our national carrier which didn't happen because of some conflicts. So I ended up with an international airline and they charged $60 per kilogram,” she said.

“Having my seven luggage plus my national costume, a suitcase full of shoes, a suitcase full of accessories, and a luggage full of winter clothes.

“I can't arrive as Miss Philippines with incomplete stuff kasi no queen should compete with incomplete items. You never know what's going to happen and you always want to be at your best because it's a competition that you want to be fully prepared for.

“I know that some of you might be surprised by that number. I know I was surprised also but I'm grateful because I was able to get myself to London on time.

“I did arrive on the day itself. Literally, on the first day I arrived, I went straight to the event. It was such a riot but I'm grateful for the experience because it taught me a lot of things.

“Be aware because $5,000 is no joke.”
