Andi Eigenmann shares why she prefers to live in Siargao

Andi Eigenmann rose to fame known as Jaclyn Jose's daughter and eventually established a name for herself in acting.

She shocked everyone when she went on hiatus from showbiz and chose to live in Siargao with her kids and partner Philmar Alipayo.

"I've always been an island lover, like a beach girl. 'Yan ang favorite pastime ko," she told Tunay na Buhay host Pia Arcangel.

She admitted that she decided to take a hiatus from showbiz to focus more on parenting. "I felt like I needed to take a break from showbiz. I wanted to have more time with Ellie."

Andi described the unique charm of Siargao that made a lasting effect on her and Ellie. "I've been to many places in the world, iba lang 'yung naging effect sa 'min ng Siargao. Kumbaga nakita ko talaga 'yung sarili ko doon.

She narrated how Ellie loved the island life. "When we first went there she was only five years old, and she really fit in so well. She made friends so fast."

"Hindi ko gagawin 'yung desisyon kung hindi ko rin nakita sa anak ko na pareho kami na gusto namin ito, bagay kami dito," Andi said.

"Sobrang simple at tahimik ng buhay sa Siargao, very warm and welcoming. To belong in a community like that coming from an industry na you're constantly judged, and people always have something to say...it made me realize na this is the kind of life that I want for myself."

Currently, Andi is expecting her third child, thankfully, her pregnancy has been an easy one. "This pregnancy has been easier, ang nagpapahirap lang is iba 'yung situation natin ngayon.

Now that's she's about to be a mom of three, Andi already knows her wishes for her kids in the future. "I just want to raise them to be independent, strong, brave, and most of all, kind."
