Katy Perry headlines Pokemon's 25th anniversary celebration
Katy Perry is sure to have a memorable 2021 as she headlines the musical event 'P25 Music,' which is part of the year-long celebration of the Pokemon Company International's 25th anniversary.

The 'Daisies' and 'Never Really Over' singer announced her social media accounts by sharing an almost 2-minute-long teaser.
She captioned it: “Pokémon 25 Where you were directly affects where you are now... ♥️ Meaning... I can't believe I used to trade my POGS for @Pokemon cards at lunch in junior high and now I get to be part of the #pokemon25 celebration... let's just say I'm feelin pretty ⚡️electric⚡️ bout it 🏻🤠”
Katy's name briefly appears in the teaser and as the video ends her voice can be heard in the background, singing 'Electric!”
In an Instagram post, the Pokemon franchise announced that Katy will be their lead collaborator for their year-long music campaign.
Their caption reads, “You can't have a party without a playlist--and no playlist is complete without @katyperry! Stay tuned for more exciting musical surprises this year, Trainers! #Pokemon25”

Part of the 25th-anniversary festivities is 'P25 Music,' the global music program that Katy will be headlining.
She will be joined by “rising artists and award-winning global superstars,” who have yet to be named.
Aside from 'P25 Music,' Pokemon fans can expect 25th-anniversary merchandise to be released, including the official Poke Ball replicas scheduled to drop on February 27, which is also Pokemon Day.
The Poke Ball Replicas is part of the Die-Cast Poke Ball Replica Series and will have touch and proximity-sensing technology.
Other things that Pokemon fans should anticipate are the 25th anniversary-themed collections of Pokemon Trading Cards, which will be available throughout the year.
The franchise is said to release special edition oversized cards to commemorate their milestone year.
Plus, they will also be producing a limited-edition anniversary skateboard designed by Bear Walker, which can be pre-ordered at the Pokemon Center beginning January 19.
For other Pokemon 25th anniversary merchandise, the franchise will collaborate with Build-A-Bear Workshop, General Mills, Levi's, and McDonald's.
And of course, fans all over the world can expect anniversary-themed announcements on Pokémon GO and Pokémon Masters EX, which will offer them a chance to unlock new journeys.
