Rica Peralejo admits using a fake branded bag in recent IG post

It's very normal for celebrities and personalities to show off their hard-earned money by buying branded materials and displaying them on social media.

However, it is very uncanny for a celebrity to admit using counterfeit bags online, like actress Rica Peralejo who recently admitted to wearing a fake Louis Vuitton bag on her Instagram account.

In her post, the celebrity mom shared her outfit of the day that exuded “very tita vibes.”

“On me: Francesca in utility grey from our #mumxrpbcollection_01, face shield natural, mask din, sandals from @uniqlophofficial, and my fake LV bag,” she wrote.

“Okay disclaimer, hindi ako mahilig sa branded. Binenta ko na actually 'yung mga branded bags ko kasi, sa totoo lang, hindi ko naman magamit.

“I would rather buy a tent with that money. Hahaha!

“But, okay, someone gave me this, and when I used it… Bongga! It did the job! I love the tote-ness of it. It's so… tote-ful? It is like a bayong na bagay sa all at kasya all.”

Based on the photo, Rica is donning a counterfeit version of Louis Vuitton's famous Neverfull MM Monogram bag that retails around PhP 60,000 and up.

In the comment section, fans weighed in on the use of fake bags.

A netizen said, “Love your being down to earth, practical momma. I am encouraged by your honest views on life and your daily walk with the Lord.”

Another added, “Dun tayo sa bag na hindi mo panghihinayangang lagyan ng buong buhay mo kasi #thismommylife.”

Meanwhile, one asked, “But, isn't it against the law to buy or use counterfeits?...”

Similarly, another noted, “I would rather buy local or 'yung mga mas affordable na bags than buy a Class A Hermés, Louis Vuitton, or whatever.”

This isn't the first time the actress became viral on social media.

During the pandemic, Rica enumerated the many things she loves about COVID-19, including getting to spend time with her husband and her children.

She said, “On one hand, I feel like my life was put on hold. Surely, I lost a lot -- opportunities, experiences, development.

“But at the same time, I feel like this has been the best time of my family life. God is knitting all the hearts involved in our small family of four in a way that has never happened before.”

“These kids will grow older,” Rica added.

“They'll want to do their own thing, have their own families, and not live with us anymore. So I can only be glad that God had given us this time to be together. The time to be fond of one another. The time to want nothing but each other. The time when bathtubs were everything and big hugs are not hard to get or give.

“But this is 'why I love' the pandemic.

“It was the reason why we got stranded halfway around the globe, and only God knew it was what we needed to seal a lifetime's worth of quality memories. The kind that not only the mind will remember, but even by every cell, every bone of my body, our bodies.”

Rica, her husband Joseph Bonifacio, and their two sons were recently stranded in the United States during the worldwide lockdown during the COIVD-19 pandemic.

Her whole family traveled to the US in March but was only able to return to the archipelago in September 2020.
