Ysabel Ortega showcases Balinese-inspired La Union home in latest vlog

By Cara Emmeline Garcia

As a follow-up on her farmland and poultry business tour, Kapuso actress Ysabel Ortega opened another door for her fans to see, and it's none other than her beautiful home!

Located in the province of La Union, Ysabel's home boasts of rustic design heavily inspired by Bali with touches of Filipino designs as evidenced by their wooden furniture created by local artisans.

“My home, as you guys know, is in La Union because I'm a true-blooded Ilocano,” she began.

“And alam n'yo naman na I go to school in Manila, and I also work in Manila, but because of the pandemic and because online classes na kami ngayon, I really don't have to go to school every day anymore, I am now here in La Union, and I get to spend more time in my home here.”

While it's not the entirety of her home, fans are already treated to the nines as Ysabel tours her viewers in their three living rooms, lanai area, a formal dining room, swimming pool, jacuzzi, garden, movie room, and kitchen.

During her tour, the Kapuso actress shared how her family recycled a few uprooted trees from their farm to serve as decorations in their cozy home.

One of which is their massive dining area that was large enough to gather 8 people in one area.

“This wood actually came from an uprooted tree we had on our farm. Na-uproot siya during one of the storms na nag-pass dito sa Pilipinas. So, we trimmed it to turn it into a table.”

She noted, “The chairs naman are made from solid wood din.

“So, as you can see, ang hirap niyang galawin. 'Yun lang 'yung downside niya kasi ang hirap galawin. Kaya kunwari kailangan namin magdagdag or magbawas ng chairs kailangan mo pang ikutin kasi mabigat talaga siya.”

Their movie room also did not disappoint as she shares the many awards her stepdad, Greg Pimentel, has earned over the years in their memorabilia wall.

Ysabel said, “Marami kaming souvenirs from around the world, and that's because it's sort of my dad's memorabilia.

“So, everything that he worked for when he was still in the PNP, nandito ang kanyang mga awards, medals -- everything! Naka-display din yung kanyang mga hat from back when he was still a cadet all the way to when he became a general.”

The memorabilia wall also included a photo of her mom, Michelle Ortega.

The actress jokingly explained, “Of course, hindi mawawala ang picture ng aking mama kasi siyempre, like what my Daddy Greg says, award din ang nanay ko.”

If the movie room is for Ysabel's stepdad, the kitchen, meanwhile, is dedicated to her mom.

“Mahilig magluto ang mommy ko 'cause she was a chef,” she said.

“And aside from cooking, mahilig din mag-bake ang aking mama kaya maraming supplies dito.”
