GOT7's Youngjae turns the page as he signs under Sublime Artist Agency

K-pop boy group GOT7 is embarking on a new journey as their contract with JYP Entertainment ended yesterday, January 19.

The following day, it was officially announced that member Youngjae had signed an exclusive contract with Sublime Artist Agency, which houses popular Korean pop acts like Rain, Song Kang-ho, EXID's Hani, and so much more.

The news was confirmed by the idol himself, who posted it on his Instagram account.

“Hello, this is Youngjae. From now on, I will be with Sublime Artist Agency,” he said.

“Thank you to everyone who has helped me to become who I am now, especially JYP PD-nim, who I learned a lot from. The eight years we spent together were like a dream, and I was happy.

“I will cherish all the precious memories the many people have given me, and I will never forget how grateful I am.

“In the future, GOT7's Youngjae and Choi Young-jae will continue to show you better performances. And to my IGOT7s, thank you for always watching over me and supporting me. I love you.”

Aside from Youngjae, another GOT7 member is said to be in talks with Sublime Artist Agency, and that's none other than Hong Kong rapper Jackson Wang.

In a report made by Newsen earlier today, it was said that Jackson is in talks to sign with Sublime and that they are still discussing an exclusive contract with the rapper.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Jinyoung is already in talks with BH Entertainment, Yugyeom with AOMG, and Bambam with MakeUs Entertainment. However, none of these agencies have confirmed signing the members just yet.

Furthermore, GOT7 leader JB has been reported to have received offers from various hip-hop labels, and Mark is considering working on his solo music in the United States.

To mark their last day with JYP Entertainment yesterday, the septet published a heartfelt letter to fans thanking them for continuously supporting their decision and hoping that they'll continue to raise their Ahgabong for each of the members and the group's endeavors.

“IGOT7, this is GOT7,” the note began as shared on the member's Instagram accounts.

“First of all, we feel very apologetic to our Ahgase about writing a letter for a reason like this. We are parting ways without a contract renewal with JYP, which launched our careers and worked hard for us until the end.

“All of us members will be taking on new starts with people who will take responsibility together for each of our individual futures. We are writing to you like this as we want to tell it to you first.

“We all know that no words can make up for the heart feelings and uneasiness you feel right now.

“However, we think there is just one thing we can say to you as GOT7.

“All of us want to continue making music for IGOT7, share it, and continue spending time together in the future.

“Rather than leaving the memories with IGOT7, who supported and watched over us despite our imperfections, in the past, we want to aim towards the future with these memories. Making it a reality instead of just a ray of hope, the seven of us will impress you for a long time as we each grow in our own ways.

“We love you, IGOT7.”
