The TIME100 Next 2021 list puts the spotlight on the 100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future.

It's the second time that they published such list, which is an extension of their flagship TIME100 Most Influential People.

The prestigious list includes artists, phenoms, leaders, advocates, and innovators whose profiles were written by some of the TIME100 alumni.

TIME CEO and editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal says this is a “testament of the ways that influence flows across generations.”

As mentioned earlier, "Drivers License" singer Olivia Rodrigo is among the musical artists who made it to the list, and the former No Doubt vocalist and The Voice coach Gwen Stefani had only nice things to say about the young singing sensation.

Gwen wrote, “At just 17, Olivia Rodrigo is a master at turning her heartbreak into something glorious.”

She also explained why she thinks Olivia's debut single has become a record-breaking hit.

Gwen said, “…while Olivia's storytelling is confessional and intimate, it's also larger than life. By pouring her heart out with so much courage and total command of her talent, Olivia made magic.

“Every line in 'Drivers License' feels like it was ripped out of Olivia's diary, each one containing a beauty and level of detail that makes you feel like you're with her, driving through the suburbs of Southern California at night, lost in thought.”

The iconic "Don't Speak" and "Hollaback Girl" singer also emphasized why Olivia is an exceptional singer-songwriter and how she can be an inspiration to young aspiring artists.

“Rare is the artist who can transport that way, especially at such a young age. And for anyone going through their first heartbreak, Olivia's voice is a light in the dark, a promise that your pain can someday become a deep source of power.”

Olivia have already tweeted about her reaction to being included in the TIME100 Next list and the flattering words that Gwen Stefani wrote about her.

She said, ”I've been a fan of Gwen for as long as I can remember. it's so surreal to have her write about me. [Really] honored to be included in this incredible group of people.”

Indeed, influence and inspiration flow through generations and we can't wait to see Olivia Rodrigo make it to the TIME100 Most Influential People list and read about the young artist she's going to write about in the TIME100 Next list.

Aside from Olivia Rodrigo, other celebrities who made it to the list are Grammy-winning singer Dua Lipa, viral young poet Amanda Gorman, TikTok star Charli D'Amelio, and Bridgerton actor Rene Jean Page.
