Remote work has its perks and disadvantages. While one need not worry about braving the heavy traffic in the city daily, it can also be mentally exhausting to be confined to your home for a long period of time.

But what if you can work remotely on a beautiful island, where it's most likely not that crowded amid the pandemic and you get to enjoy the unparalleled beauty of nature and there's plenty of space for you to move around, would you grab the opportunity to work there?

Sounds enticing, right? Especially if you can work near the beach and have a strong internet connection as well.

If you're thinking about working remotely from exotic destinations, check out GMA Lifestyle's list below of countries that offer work from paradise visas.

Antigua & Barbuda

Want to work on a Caribbean island? You're in luck because Antigua & Barbuda is offering a Nomad Digital Residence (NDR), which is a 2-year visa for remote workers who can prove that they have the means to support themselves and any accompanying family member during their stay.

Interested digital nomads should also be able to maintain their own health insurance plan. Other requirements include an accomplished online application form, proof of employment, police background check, visa fee of $1,500 (around Php72,931) for one person, $2,000 (around Php97,241) for a couple, and $3,000 (around Php 145,863) for a family of three members.

Barbados is another Caribbean island that offers a work from paradise visa to digital nomads. The visa is called Barbados Welcome Stamp, which will allow remote workers to live and work in their paradise island for a year.

Interested working professionals must certify that they have an annual income of at least $50,000 or roughly Php2,431,050, or can at least support themselves during their stay.

Online application fee is $2,000 (Php97,241) for an individual and $3,000 (Php 145,863) for a family.

Fancy working and living on the iconic pink shores of Bermuda for a year? You can do just that with their One Year Residential Certification.

Application fee for the said certification is $263 or around Php12,787. Interested applicants need to prove employment with a legitimate firm or their own company or if they're students, proof of enrollment in an educational institution. Or even if you don't work or study but can prove that you have sufficient means to get by while in Bermuda, you're also welcome to apply.

Cayman Islands

Cayman Islands are also inviting digital nomads to work and live in their country for up to two years through their Global Citizen Certificate (GCC).

However, applicants should prove that they earn an annual salary of at least $100,000 (Php4,862,100) individually or $150,000 (Php7,293,150) as a couple.
