Nicole Hernandez upset with sports medical facility that allegedly failed to contact trace

As new COVID-19 cases in the Philippines continue to rise, model-influencer Nicole Hernandez-de los Angeles uses her voice to shed light on the flawed contact tracing procedure or lack thereof in some establishments, particularly, in a sports medical facility that she and her husband go to.

Nicole revealed on Instagram that she and her husband Jaime recently had a COVID scare, and that the sports medical facility where they were exposed to the virus allegedly failed to conduct contact tracing right away.

She started her post by emphasizing the importance of being transparent about one's symptoms for everyone's awareness and safety.

Part of her post reads, “We've experienced loved ones, friends, colleagues, battle this virus. We see our brave doctors, front liners, and nurses selflessly treat patients. It's no joke.

“It is also our responsibility to be careful and transparent if and when we show symptoms.”

The mom-of-two then detailed their disappointing experience with the establishment where they were exposed to COVID-19.

“I want to share something that my husband and I went through recently. We both learned the hard way that despite trusting a Sports Medical Facility in Filinvest in following strict safety measures (as they claimed), one should always have their guard up and not to take things at face value.

“My husband was exposed to his physical therapist and other staff who tested positive for Covid.”

Nicole then pointed out what was so upsetting about the whole experience.

“You would think that they would immediately shut down, test everyone, and contact trace.

“They didn't. Instead they operated business as usual all week keeping this information from their clients.

“We only found out when a friend who's parent also was their client told us about it.”

Although Nicole was greatly dismayed by what happened, she's grateful that they were spared from the potentially deadly virus.

“The amount of stress we went through affected our entire family. My children were scared. We immediately contacted family and other individuals we came in contact with.

“Thankfully, PCR results were negative. What an ordeal knowing we could have unknowingly spread it to others.”

Her friend, entrepreneur, and fellow influencer, Cat Arambulo-Antonio also shared in the comments that her family also had a COVID scare. And although they all tested negative, they still quarantined themselves.

Celebrity food blogger and chef Patti Grandidge-Herrera also gave her two cents on the incident. She commented, “How stressful for you guys! This is very irresponsible of the business‼️”

Despite being coaxed by some people, Nicole did not name the establishment. But she warned people to stay vigilant of the virus and to be responsible for their actions.

“I hope our story reminds you to be vigilant at all times. This virus is REAL and we have to be very careful of who, what and where we expose ourselves to.

“Always wear your mask and face shield properly, keep your alcohol close by to easily clean your hands.

“We must be accountable and responsible of our actions, because it could affect dozens of people around us. Do what you can to help limit the spread and let's hope for brighter days ahead. Stay safe ”
