A woman in Poland called an animal welfare group to help retrieve a 'beast' in a tree

In a hilarious turn of events, the mysterious “beast” hanging out in a tree in Poland was actually a croissant.

A woman in the city of Krakow in Poland called the animal welfare group, Krakow Animal Welfare Society, to report a mysterious animal.

She called the group to let them “pick up” the animal. “Come and pick him up,” the woman reportedly said to the welfare group's staff, who recounted the funny event in a Facebook post on April 14.

Confused with the call, the inspector asked further questions regarding the animal.

“He's been sitting in a tree across the block for two days! People don't open windows because they're afraid it's going to enter their house,” the woman said.

The staff, named Adam, then suggested that maybe it was just a bird to which the woman replied, “No! It's not a bird!”

He then asked to describe the creature.

“It's brown, it's sitting in a tree…” she said. The woman even said that it looks like a “legwan” or an iguana.

After a few more confused and panicked answers from the woman, the inspector asked for her address and went to the location. Adam and another staff searched the premises until finally locating the “creature.”

The brown creature was a croissant, stuck between two branches of a lilac tree.

“Probably flew out of a window and the poor guy got stuck in the fork of lilac twigs,” Adam the inspector surmised.

Thousands have reacted to the hilarious post and have since been shared more than 1,000 times. Even the media has been captivated by the story.
