Pandemic or not, the 2021 Oscars will definitely push through this year. The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony will happen on Sunday, April 25, at 8 p.m. (EST) or 8 a.m. of April 26, Monday, in the Philippines.
Unlike the past Oscars, there will be changes in this awards ceremony's venue.
Traditionally, the Oscars is held at the Dolby Theatre. But this year, it will primarily be held at the historic Union Station in Los Angeles, with additional events at the Dolby Theatre and other international locations via satellite.
Is there a red carpet?
Yes, but it will certainly be different from the usual. For starters, there will be no crowds or press people flocking near the red carpet.
Only nominees, their guests and the presenters will be allowed in the red carpet area, and they've all gone through multiple rounds of testing and a mandatory quarantine period.
Plus, safety protocols will surely be implemented during the event.
Who will be hosting and presenting?
For the third year in a row, the Oscars will have no host, but will have a stellar roster of presenters including last year's winners Joaquin Phoenix. Renee Zellweger, Brad Pitt, and Laura Dern, as well as Hollywood A-listers Halle Berry, Bryan Cranston, Angela Bassett, Harrison Ford, Don Cheadle, Regina King, Reese Witherspoon, Zendaya, Marlee Martin, Rita Moreno, and 2020 Parasite director and last year's best director winner Bong Joon-ho.
Who will be performing?
All the nominees for Best Original Song will be performing their respective songs in its entirety including Fil-Am singer and Grammy-winning artist H.E.R., who will sing “Fight For You” from the film Judas and the Black Messiah.
Other performers include Leslie Odom, Jr. for One Night in Miami song “Speak Now” and Swedish singer Molly Sandén for Eurovision Song Contest song “Husavik,”
