Kelley Day returns to Manila after Miss Eco International stint

Miss Eco International 2021 First Runner-Up Kelley Day has landed in the Philippines.

To mark her return, she went on Instagram to thank her many fans for their support throughout the competition.

On Monday, April 26, Kelley shared a short clip of herself, bare-faced, to tell that she's currently in self-isolation to follow COVID-19 protocols of the country.

She tells viewers, “Hey, everyone. Good evening. It's 10:30 pa lang, and I want to give you all an update that I am in Manila. I flew in this afternoon, arrived, and checked in to my quarantine hotel, where I'll be staying for the next seven days.

“Yeah, I just want to give you guys this update that I'm finally back home in Manila and really happy to be back.”

In the caption, the 24-year-old beauty queen added, “I've received so many well-wishes, and I want you all to know I arrived in Manila this afternoon.

“Thank you, everyone, for all the lovely messages and prayers. I can't express enough gratitude to my closest friends and family who have been just a call (or calls) away -- thank you.”

On April 4, Easter Sunday, Kelley Day bagged First Runner-up at the international competition held in Egypt.

South Africa's Gizzelle Uys won the coveted title, with Miss Venezuela, United States, and Costa Rica following Kelley.

After the competition, the Miss Eco International organization went under fire to pageant fans after news spread that some candidates have tested positive for the coronavirus during the competition.

On April 6, the Miss World Philippines (MWP) Organization said that they are “coordinating closely” with the organization and that Kelley remains its “topmost priority.”

MWP National Director Arnold Vegafria added in a statement, “We are happy to announce that Miss Kelley Day is doing okay health-wise and is currently awaiting the results of her RT-PCR test, which should yield more conclusive results.

“However, she can't fly back to Manila just yet, since there are no available return flights so far because of the ongoing ECQ lockdown.”

He continued, “In the meantime, she remains safe and secure in her hotel where she is enjoying her extended vacation, at the same time getting adequate attention to ensure her total wellness under the auspice and care of the Miss Eco International organizers.”

In an article by PEP. ph on April 16, Kelley Day had reportedly tested negative after undergoing swab testing in Egypt.
