LJ Moreno-Alapag and Rufa Mae Quinto Star in New YouTube Show, 'The Wandermamas'

Celebrity moms LJ Moreno - Alapag and Rufa Mae Quinto are launching their new show, The Wandermamas on YouTube on Mother's Day 2021.

The show, which features the adventures of the two best friends as they explore their new lives as full-time mamas in the United States.

It was in 2020 that the two decided to move permanently to the US to pursue a new chapter in their lives.

LJ and her husband, multi-awarded PBA Cager and Coach, Jimmy Alapag, made the decision alongside to move to the United States in the middle of 2020, “We didn't expect the pandemic to last as long as it has and we knew that this was the best time to pursue other opportunities.”

Rufa Mae, on the other hand, was only visiting the US in February of 2020 to celebrate Valentine's Day with her husband, Trevor, and celebrate their daughter's third birthday, “Dapat uwi na ako ng February 25 pero nag-extend ako up to March 21 kasi may soap opera na sana akong gagawin sa GMA.

“Nag extend ako kasi baka hindi ako makauwi agad sa husband ko sa Amerika kaya in-extend ko ng one month. Sakto naman March 19 nag lockdown na so 21 dapat uwi namin pero wala ng flight. Nag lockdown na and hindi na kami nakauwi.”

The move for the busy celebrities proved to be a challenging one.

As LJ recalls, “The transition was definitely hard. I was also homesick in the beginning but once I fully accepted na for this season this is where God wants us to be mas nagging okay. It also helps that both our families are here.”

Rufa Mae also notes that adjusting to the American way of life was difficult at the beginning, “Ibang iba ang buhay dito. Mabilis ang oras and ikaw gumagawa lahat.”

However, the two celebrity moms who are known not just for their talents on-screen but also their entrepreneurial spirits decided to confront the transition head-on and that meant not putting their passion and dreams on hold any longer.

Despite their busy schedules as full-time moms in the US, LJ and Rufa Mae still felt the calling of the industry they have been in for years. Using their new experiences as inspiration, they created the show, The Wandermamas which will be exclusively shown on YouTube beginning Mother's Day 2021.

The Wandermamas is a weekly show featuring LJ and Rufa Mae's new adventures in the US. The show is the first of the many planned offerings LJ and Rufa Mae have under Mabuhay Studios, the production studios they created alongside premiere Director, Ivan Dedicatoria.

The show was inspired by their own experiences and a desire to remind mamas everywhere that despite their responsibilities, it's okay to put themselves first.

As LJ notes, “We want to remind busy moms out there that it's okay for them to have their own “me” time because in taking care of themselves, they take care of their families better.”

The show also serves as a reminder that even if life takes different unexpected turns, you can still fulfill your dreams. (Carla Bianca Ravanes Higham)
