Kris Bernal realizes the value of contentment as she turns 32 this year

We can learn a thing or two from Kris Bernal's Instagram post about her thoughts on contentment. The actress turned 32 this week, celebrating her birthday for the second time during a pandemic.

On her birthday, May 17, she wrote, “For me, being content is feeling fortunate. Feeling happy about the things I have and what the future has in store for me, instead of complaining about the things I don't have and worrying about what I cannot change.”

Kris added that despite the simple celebration, she knows that what is important is the people around her.

“Contented with how I celebrated my birthday today. Nothing fancy as I said. Even if we weren't complete, even if I wasn't with my whole family and loved ones, didn't receive extravagant gifts, I'm still grateful because I felt loved by the important people that I have in my life.

“Your birthday wishes and greetings are enough gifts for me.”

Kris, or Kristine Ann Tan Bernal in real life, shot to stardom after joining StarStruck: The Next Level in 2006. She and Martin Escudero were declared the Ultimate Love team that year. Meanwhile, Aljur Abrenica was hailed as the Ultimate Hunk and Jewel Mische bagged the Ultimate Sweetheart title.
