Carlos Edriel Yulo might have narrowly missed a podium finish in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but the top Pinoy gymnast is staying positive despite the outcome.

South Korea's Shin Jeahwan claimed the gold yesterday, August 2, while Russia and Armenia bagged the silver and bronze medal, respectively.

In a post on his social media accounts, Carlos thanked his core supporters and even though he fell short of winning any medal, he is still satisfied with his performance.

#Pilipinas #puso #motivated”

Filipinos online rewarded Carlos with messages of support and congratulated him for representing the country on the world stage.

He even became a hot topic on Twitter Philippines yesterday for bringing pride to Team Philippines.

In other news, flyweight contender Carlo Paalam was in no mood to return home just yet after he punched his way to the medal rounds.

Carlo secured at least a bronze medal after defeating Shakhobidin Zoirov, an AIBA world champion in the quarter final round held this morning, August 3.

Meanwhile, Hidilyn Diaz made history as the first Filipino to win the gold medal in the Olympics last week. With her win, the government and numerous private organizations pledged to reward for her huge accomplishment.
