Gil Cuerva shares pros and cons of living alone vs living with family

By Maine Aquino

Kapuso actor and host Gil Cuerva reveals which he prefers the most, living alone or living with family members.

Gil explained that he has tried both setups. "I've done both. I've lived alone and lived with a family,” he shared.

"I've even lived alone abroad for a while. Not too long, around two months noong nag-model ako sa Hong Kong," he added.

According to Gil, one thing to consider is the status of your life before choosing one over the other. Gil explained this in the Facebook live of My Fantastic Pag-ibig's page.

"I think it depends kung ano 'yung state mo right now, like in life right now. Kung ano ang situation mo right now."

Gil clarified that there are people who choose one setup over the other because of their priorities and their needs.

"Some people kasi they really work better kapag sila lang mag-isa. Some people prefer living alone lalo na kapag focused sila sa career nila, sa job nila.

"Then there are some people na their concept of family is strong."

The Kapuso star admitted that he is part of the population who wants to always be around family.

"I'd like to think my concept of family is strong.

"As much as possible, gusto namin one big happy family kasi nga that's very Filipino. 'Yung lahat kayo magkakasama sa isang bahay. That's a very Filipino trait."

Gil also revealed that he is torn between living alone and living with his family.

"It's hard to choose one or the other, really."

He discussed that when it comes to working, he is more productive when he's on his own. Gil also stressed that there will be no risks involved during the pandemic in solo living. However, there's also the feeling of loneliness that should be taken into consideration.

"I think I am more productive when solo living.

"Mas may freedom ka, lalo na may COVID ngayon. If you're living alone you don't have to worry about infecting your family and loved ones. It can be bit lonely sometimes. But if you're like me and there are times na enjoy being alone naman its not too difficult."

Gil admitted that when he's ready, he would like to live with a family of his own. According to the Kapuso actor, he is currently focused on his goals for his career.

"Siguro in the future, when I am older, 'pag na-achieve ko na ang gusto kong ma-achieve sa career ko, I would like to live with a family, I would like to settle down, have family of own."
