Christmas is just around the corner and soon people will go on a holiday shopping rush to find gifts for their loved ones.

But more than the material things, sometimes its meaning is more important in gift-giving.

Jose Mari Chan, the so-called "Father of Philippine Christmas Music," reminds the public to be a thoughtful gift-giver this Christmas.

When asked for advice, Chan answered, "I've told my children and grandchildren this, make a mental list of people and friends that you care about. Make a list and then, think about or reflect on the things that they like individually."

The OPM icon was once again introduced as an endorser of Shopee earlier, November 3, in time for its new campaign called 11.11 Big Christmas Sale.

For four years, Chan has been the face of the e-commerce platform during the Christmas season.

The "A Perfect Christmas" singer expressed his gratitude for this continued support, "I feel blessed that, number one, my songs are now associated with this most joyful season of the year. But I feel especially blessed being part of the Shopee family."

As its endorser, Chan advised shoppers to try online platforms as "it offers a wider selection [of gift items] and is more convenient, especially at this time of the pandemic."

To encourage more people, Shopee introduces initiatives such as special welcome gifts and vouchers, bills cashback, free shipping, 100% off vouchers, and ₱1 deals with their first purchase.

It also has gift guides for easy holiday shopping where users can enjoy a quick and easy holiday shopping experience with "Christmas in our Carts" gift guides, where shoppers can get discounts up to 90% off on a wide range of branded gifts and bundles, from the latest gadgets to luxurious personal care items.

Meanwhile, Shopee's 11.11 Christmas sale will end with a big finale via a TV special.

One of today's hottest K-pop boy bands will delight Pinoy viewers with their chart-topping hits at the 11.11 TV show on November 11, 9:30-11:30 pm on GMA Network and Shopee Live. The program will also feature local celebrities such as Jessy Mendiola, Aira Bermudez, Rocco Nacino, Klea Pineda, Andre Paras, and Gil Cuerva. Lastly, viewers stand a chance to win prizes and giveaways worth over PhP12,000,000, including two new house & lots and a brand-new car.

In conclusion, Chan was asked about his Christmas wish this year. He replied, "Well, my Christmas wish is for this pandemic to end. And I wish that all my countrymen can be protected, health-wise, from this virus. Also, my wish is for each one of us to reflect on our priorities in life--to be closer to our families and to have a grateful heart for all the blessings we have received in our life, and to be a cheerful giver."
