Alden Richards's AR foundation has now produced graduates

By Izel Abanilla

Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards has fulfilled yet another milestone in his advocacy to champion education as his charity AR Foundation has now produced graduates.

"I'm really proud to say na I now have two college graduates," he said in a virtual media conference for his initiative and docu-concert 'FORWARD,'" he said.

Firmly believing the significance of acquiring education to create a brighter future, Alden's AR Foundation basically lends a hand to anyone who has the yearning to study.

"Right now we focus on kids as in anyone na gustong mag-aral. That's what the "Forward" concert is all about. All the proceeds will go to the AR Foundation to sustain or acquire more scholars," he said.

The Pambansang Bae further shared that AR Foundation is gearing towards bolder endeavors to expand its reach to kids who want a better life.

"Nasa first stage pa lang naman kami ng AR Foundation to give scholarship to kids. May mga future plans kami na kahit papaano maka-establish tayo ng solid grounds for work for them," he continued.

AR Foundation

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alden has been heavily working on this passion project in the past months, however, the idea of putting up a venture that could provide educational assistance to kids has long been a dream for him.

Still fairly new, AR Foundation was just formally registered in September 2021. Nonetheless, he's already been supporting scholars even way before he has established the institution.

"Mga ika-second year ko nang mag start ako sa showbiz, I really had that urge to share whatever I'm getting. Halimbawa bagong sweldo, siyempre blessing 'yun ayoko naman na akin lang siya lahat," he said.

His vision for the foundation is simple. "I want AR Foundation to be isa sa mga tools ng mga kabataan na makakuha ng mga magiging scholars para [maabot] nila 'yung mga pangarap nila sa buhay," he continued.

Personal struggles

The passion to help kids get education basically stemmed from his own hardships at sending himself to school because of financial struggles.

"Personally, I have experienced difficulties. When it comes to studying, 'yung gustong-gusto mo mag-aral pero wala kang perang pampaaral... hindrance po talaga ang kahirapan sa edukasyon," he shared.

"Mahirap po mag aral kapag hindi ka po financially stable so I want AR Foundation to be there," he added.

"Forward" is the actor's first-ever documentary concert where he would introduce his life as Richard Fulkerson Jr. before he became Alden Richards to the public.

Directed by Frank Lloyd Mamaril, the concert will happen on January 30, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets are now available through the Ticket 2 Me website for P1,999 (VIP) and P999 (GA). Buy here: https://ticket2me.net/e/34360
