By Aedrianne Acar

Former Adarna star Michelle Madrigal felt it was a bittersweet moment, when she finally took her oath as a US citizen.

The celebrity mom documented this special moment via her vlog, but could barely contain her emotions as she shared that she wanted to celebrate this milestone with her family.

With tears flowing, Michelle said, “I'm so emotional right. Oh My God! I wish Anika was here, but she has to go to school and I have to go straight to work [sobs].”

“Gusto ko lang may kasama dito, the family to celebrate [laughs], but uhm we did it. I am a US citizen.”

Michelle, who is in the midst of a divorce with ex-husband Troy Woolfolk, shared that she was thinking of her daughter Anika during the oath taking.

“My gosh! I'm so emotional. All I could think of after my oath was Anika with the whole thing going on like with my divorce and everything like 'pag may malalaking bagay na nangyayari.”

She then continued, “All you want to be surrounded with is your family and all I want is to hug Anika 'pag labas ko kanina, but I won't be able to see her until later.”

“My mom is in New Jersey, I just wanted my sisters to be here and also since my mom is already a green card holder and she lives here.”

“Naisip ko talaga 'yung daddy ko, if he was still alive, nagkaroon sana ako ng chance to like petition him.”

Michelle and Troy met through a dating app in 2016 and welcomed their daughter Anika in October 2017.

The ex-couple got married in April 2019.
