Mikael Daez unwinds by traveling and discovering unique eats

Now that With A Smile has ended, Kapuso hunk Mikael Daez is eager to catch up on activities he has missed on doing. How does he usually relax and de-stress?

With time on his hands, Mikael looks forward to indulge in the simple pleasures of life and just have fun.

He shared, “Right now, I’m mostly playing with my iPad, looking for time to sleep, which has been very rare for me. I’m gonna look forward to resting a bit. If I have five days off, maybe I could take a vacation and think about absolutely nothing, and just like maybe lay on the sand for five days straight. Bahala na kung anong mangyayari sa akin dun.”

The tall, dark and handsome actor also wants to keep fit and sweat it out.

“I wanna hit the gym. I haven’t been able to go to the gym. I mean, a lot of friends of mine are doing the Cosmo Bachelor Bash, so I’m just cheering them on. Good job, guys! Go for it,” he said.

If ever he does decide to travel, does he have any specific destination in mind?

He replied, “Yeah! Yung winter kasi sa South Korea, rinig ko January or February pa, so that’s out of the question. I think Tokyo would be a nice place to go to. Ramen, yay! Pero kung hindi matuloy ‘yun, it’s either I go to somewhere really cold or I go to somewhere really hot.”

“Gusto ko ‘yung Coron, hindi pa ako nakakapunta doon. Camiguin also,” he shared.

Apart from that, he also has a lot of plans for his blog, mikaeldaez.com, since he hasn’t updated it for quite some time. He usually posts about his travels, events he attends and food. It is interesting to note that this hottie loves eating lasagna with rice.

Before Midnight Snack, Mikael did not consider himself a foodie. His culinary escapades in the show made him more adventurous when it comes to food.

He shared, “You know what, dati hindi ako kumakain ng laman-loob, ‘yung mga Betamax at isaw, but because of Midnight Snack, napakain talaga ako. Siguro tatlong beses akong pinakain ng laman-loob, and those three times, neutral lang talaga ako.”

What’s the weirdest food he has ever eaten? Did he enjoy eating it?

“There was one time, I ate Taghilaw. Ano siya, ginisang laman-loob, as in purong-purong laman-loob, so kung anong lasa niya, ‘yun ang matitikman mo. For some reason, ‘yun pa ‘yung nagustuhan ko,” he revealed.

He added, “You wouldn’t actually expect liver or intestines to taste good as it is in its broth, ‘di ba? Okay sana kung grilled because you’d taste the barbecue flavor, but ginisa? Tapos nagustuhan ko? Wow! Ano bang nangyayari sa akin? I liked it a lot, and it’s the most adventurous thing na nagustuhan ko.”
