Solenn Heussaff tells the importance of speaking up

By Maine Aquino

Solenn Heussaff shared that she has learned a valuable lesson after all these years that she is in showbiz.

According to the multi-talented star, if she could advise her younger self, it will be, "success and failure work hand in hand."

Solenn shared this when she was interviewed on Bianca Gonzalez's YouTube channel.

According to Solenn, a person needs to succeed and to fall down to learn something.

"Don't thrive to just succeed because you can't get there without ups and downs. Actually, the more downs you have, the better the end goal will be because you'll be more mature as a person, you'll be more open-minded, you'll be more humble," she said.

Solenn also mentioned that she would advise her younger self to speak up. According to Solenn, she used to say yes to everybody, and it resulted in being unhappy in some situations.

She said, " Speak up; it's one thing I am not good at. I am a people pleaser, I always want to please people. Only recently, have I been semi-comfortable.”

Solenn stressed that she is still a work in progress but she is slowly learning to say no when needed.

"I wouldn't say I am a hundred percent there yet but only now do I speak up and say you know this is not really for me or this is making me uncomfortable, I think we should do it this way or that way."

Solenn added, "Before I was just like go, go, go, and sometimes I will find myself in awkward situations where it kind of put me in a depressed mode for a while because I was unhappy with the things I've done. Speak up, there are certain things that you may say to someone that doesn't have to mean but that someone or that something will understand naman."
