Sid Lucero on daughter, Halo Eve: “I want her to be exactly what she’s gonna be.”

Sid Lucero can’t help but smile nowadays. Besides being the proud father of Halo Eve, who was born last August 12, Sid also makes his big television comeback in Magkano Ba Ang Pag-ibig?. Find out how fatherhood has changed this Kapuso actor for the better.

Let’s go back to August 12, the day Sid’s girlfriend, General Luna drummer Bea Lao gave birth to Halo Eve. What was Sid’s reaction when he saw Halo Eve for the first time?

“I was there the entire time. In fact, we went through Lamaze class. I was expecting that I was gonna be the birth coach, but it ended up cesarean, but lucky enough, I was still there during the cutting and everything. It was really amazing! Ang daming layers pala ng tao! Two toned na nga ‘yung mask ko, darker sa taas because of my tears,” replied Sid.

Who does Halo Eve resemble more, Sid or Bea?

Sid quickly answered, “Nanay niya, sobra! Carbon copy, especially if nakabukas ‘yung mukha. When she’s sleeping, she kinda looks like my baby self. We’ll see. Baby pa siya, eh. Hindi pa buong buo ‘yung features.”

We also asked Sid how the name “Halo Eve” came about. What could be the story behind this unique name?

The award-winning actor shared, “Actually when I was still in high school, I wanted my first child, girl or boy to be named Halo. It’s not a conventional name, so you kinda can’t get used to it. You have to digest it pa. So I’m like, wait, I’m used to it na, and since everybody in my family has second names, I wanted to give her a second name. I named her after my mom and sister, so I took Eve.”

How has fatherhood changed Sid? Has it helped him mature as an individual?

“Siguro, I wouldn’t say that I’m a dad yet because I’m at a stage where ang inaalagaan namin ay infant at very clockwork pa siya. She wakes up at a certain time, she drinks at a certain time, she sleeps at a certain time, and it’s regular,” shared Sid.

Sid also mentioned that he is somewhat pressured by the responsibility that comes with being a father.

He shared, “Ang kinakatakutan ko, kapag nagdedecide na kami about her school, or if she’s at school and she’s being bullied, how would I handle that? ‘Yung parenting mismo, ‘dun ako natatakot. But other than that, everything’s the same. The only difference is whatever I do now has a direct impact on somebody else.”

“I guess I’m much more aware of what I’m doing nowadays, especially to myself. If I go out with my friends, nagbibilang na ako ng bote. Alam mo ‘yun?,” asked Sid.

When Halo grows up, what does Sid want her to be? What are his dreams for her?

“I want her to be exactly what she’s gonna be. I want her to have all the best parts of whatever I fell in love with her mom, and none of my bad parts. Also, hopefully, everything that her mom fell in love with me for,” he stated.
