On Monday, Lara Quigaman shared on Instagram her journey as a beauty queen.

Lara posted a snap of herself way back in 2001 when she first joined Binibining Pilipinas.

"I was 18 when I first joined Bb Pilipinas in 2001, I could have won if I was more ready, I guess or of the judges then liked me enough to give me a crown- but I did not even make it to the top 10," she wrote in her caption.

The celebrity mom also shared how she came back in 2005 to compete again for the crown after losing it in her first try.

“I came back in 2005, prepared, determined and confident. I could have been chosen to compete in Miss Universe or Miss World, but I was crowned Bb Pilipinas International and competed in Tokyo, Japan,” Lara shared.

“There wasn't a mistake when I lost in 2001, I wasn't ready. There wasn't a mistake when I won Bb Pilipinas International instead of the other titles when I came back in 2005 because I brought the Miss International crown home that same year.”

Lara also said that bagging the crown as Bb. Pilipinas International 2005 and Miss International 2005 changed her life. She also expressed her gratitude to the organization.

“Everything that happened, God allowed it to happen. The losses, the victories, the heartbreak, the celebrations and the challenges. It all happened for a reason. God has a purpose through it all,” she continued.

“From an 18 year old Bb. Pilipinas candidate who failed to make the cut to a determined repeater who gave the Philippines its 4th Miss International crown after 29 years to a wife and mom of 3 boys- and now a member of Bb. Pilipinas Executive Committee... What a journey!

“What a blessing, an honor to be a part of an organization that God used to change my life completely! Thank you @bbpilipinasofficial” she added.

The wife of actor Marco Alcaraz ended her caption with a message for the newly crowned queens of Binibining Pilipinas.

“Again- NOTHING HAPPENS BY MISTAKE. There were no mistakes. Our New Bb. Pilipinas Queens are worthy, deserving and are the rightful winners of their respective titles who I know and believe in my heart will make the Philippines proud.

Everything happens for a reason, trust that God is sovereign, try to find the lessons in every season and by God's grace, you will be where you need to be. May God be glorified through it all!” Lara wrote.
