Instead of a podcast taping, Kyline Alcantara was instead surprised by the advance birthday celebration planned for her by Mavy Legaspi.
Kyline is turning 20 on September 3.
In a report from 24 Oras' Chika Minute, Kyline was shown surrounded by friends singing happy birthday to her just before she blows the candles on her cake.
During her interview, she couldn't help but smile and thanked Legaspi for the surprise.
“I'm thankful. I'm really thankful for this guy and I'm thankful also na ibinigay s'ya sa akin ni God,” she said, adding how she appreciates all the efforts that he has done for her.
She also said how overwhelmed it made her feel to have all her friends and colleagues including Bianca Umali, Ruru Madrid and Rayver Cruz, among others, celebrating with her.
Mavy, meanwhile, is thankful to see Kyline happy with the surprise, adding that it has been a while since Kyline had a “grand birthday” since the pandemic started.
“Thankfully nakita na namin-nating lahat na na-surprise talaga si Kyline. Talagang we have people na talagang close to her, greeting her on her special day,” he said.
Mavvy also added how happy he is to see Kyline happy on her special day.
Former co-stars and colleagues also greeted her and wished her well during the celebrations.
Rayver Cruz wished her to have more blessings to come despite already being successful and reminded her that he's there to be her “kuya sa industriya.”
Bianca Umali, her co-star in the series Kambal Karibal, also greeted her on her special day.
“Ang wish ko kay Kyline is of course, for her to reach whatever she wants to reach. Kyline, you know how much I love you,” she said.
Ruru Madrid, her co-star in the romance anthology Wagas also greeted her and expressed his support.
“Nandito kami palagi para sa'yo, naka suporta para sa kahit na anong gagawin mo sa buhay. We love you so much,” he said.
Kyline said that she did not expect to have a celebration and her closest friends to be there, celebrating with her.
“Di ko po talaga ine-expect lahat. Andito pa si Bianca, andito pa si Ruru, andito pa si Rayver, andito pa 'yung mga friends namin na close to my heart,” she said.
