“It’s a beautiful experience” - Sid Lucero on being a dad

Kapuso actor Sid Lucero has only been a dad for almost three months to Halo Eve but he already has big dreams for his daughter.

Halo Eve will be three months old in November 12.

Sid explained that his girlfriend, Bea Lao, had wanted to name her future baby – whether girl or boy – Halo. He added Eve, after his sister.

“Hindi siya ganoon kadali. Hindi gaanon kabilis i-absorb,” he said, when asked about fatherhood. “But when I do know na magkakaroon na 'ko ng anak, until I see her [Bea] and the baby, it's a beautiful experience.”

Sid proudly said he has no problems balancing time as a full-time dad and a full-time actor because Bea helps her.

“We have shifts. I was night shift and my girlfriend is day shift,” he added.

Caring for a baby came almost naturally to him because he took care of his younger siblings, as opposed to his girlfriend who never held a child in her life before. “Pero sandali lang sa babae matutuhan ‘yon. Iba ang babae eh, iba talaga. Kapag sa kanila automatic na yan.”

Sid met Bea Lao shortly after breaking up with his girlfriend. Bea was also recovering from a broken heart. They became inseparable after a few dates.

He proposed to Bea when he picked her up at the airport from a flight from Dubai, holding up a signage with the words “Can I call you my girlfriend?”

He said he wants Halo Eve to be a musician, like her mother, who is a drummer. He also wants his daughter to grow up like the woman he fell in love with and to live comfortably, knowing exactly who she wants to be.

If he had his way, the doting father wants his daughter to finish school before joining showbiz.

“No. Not too early. I think of course, at the end of the day, it's really her choice. But if I had my choice, I'd rather have her finish her school first. ‘Yon ‘yong hindi ko nagawa eh, not even my girlfriend, hindi rin nakatapos,” he said.
