Glaiza de Castro inks an exclusive contract with GMA Network

Kapuso actress Glaiza de Castro signed a three-year exclusive contract with GMA Network on November 8. Present at the event were GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar, GMA Entertainment TV’s Officer-in-Charge Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Vice-President for Drama Productions, Redgie Acuna-Magno and Ms. Gigi Santiago- Lara, AVP for Alternative Productions.
A versatile actress, Glaiza is known for her memorable portrayals in different teleseryes. Her role as Eunice in the Philippine version of Stairway to Heaven truly made a mark. From then on, she has taken on a variety of roles in popular Primetime programs like Diva, Grazilda, Amaya, Biritera and Temptation of Wife.
Glaiza currently stars as Gregoria de Jesus in Katipunan and as Vavavoom in the weekly sitcom, Vampire Ang Daddy Ko.
When asked how it felt to finally be an exclusive Kapuso talent, the statuesque actress said, “Actually, ang tagal namin itong hinintay na talagang maging pure contract artist ng GMA. Nagsimula ako sa freelance, tapos co-management, tapos ngayon, talagang in a way, official na talaga ako. Masaya kasi lahat ng mga bagay na hinihintay natin, kapagka binigay na, ang sarap ng pakiramdam. Isa siyang blessing talaga at isa sa mga prayers na natupad.”
“Nae-excite ako kasi may mga bagong tao na akong name-meet. Ang tagal ko ring inantay na mayroon ding mag ga-guide sa akin. Same page kami,” she added.
She also revealed that there will be big changes regarding the direction of her career. She hopes to have more projects not only in acting, but also in singing. She appreciates all the efforts of the network to help her hone her skills.
“Nakakatuwa dahil open ang [GMA] Artist Center sa mga gusto ng artists. Kumbaga, may freedom din kami to suggest and to say what we want in terms of our direction as an artist,” she stated.
If ever she will be given the chance to handpick her next leading man, who would she choose?
“Lahat halos ng gusto kong makasama sa series, nakasama ko na. Siguro si Tom [Rodriguez] dahil siya ‘yung bago ngayon ng GMA. Sobrang nahuhusayan talaga ako umarte sa kanya,” Glaiza said.
GMA Chairman and CEO Atty Felipe Gozon was all praises for Glaiza, and gave this statement: “Itong pinirmahan natin ngayong hapon ay renewal lamang, at iyan ang nagpapatunay na sa ating pananaw, talagang magagaling itong mga artistang nire-renew natin at dapat lamang na bigyan natin ng magagandang projects.”
