Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol has done her part in helping Filipino children prepare for the new school year as she wraps up a school distribution activity with the educational non-government organization that she supports.
In a post on her Instagram account, Gwendolyne put up multiple pictures and a video of her participation in ERDA Foundation's distribution of school supplies among its beneficiaries.
The ERDA Foundation was founded in 1974 and “envisions a nation where all children and youth have access to quality education and holistic development in a supportive environment for them to have a better life.”
In the caption, Gwendolyne thanked the benefactors from all over the world that have supported the foundation and given the foundation's beneficiaries “a reason to continue chasing their dreams.” She also noted how her participation in the project has “enlightened” her, especially as she has seen how young people will not get in the way of them getting an education.
Gwendolyne has been involved with the foundation for a long time now and her participation in the school supply distribution activity has been going on for months. She first called for donations in July, sharing that she would be sending a care package and asking her followers to send school supplies, books, educational resources or clothes.
Aside from the ERDA Foundation, Gwendolyne has also been involved with other causes along with other Miss World Philippines queens.
Last month, Gwendolyne, along with Miss World Philippines Tourism Justine Felizarta and Miss Eco Philippines Ashley Subijano Montenegro, visited the Benigno Aquino High School in Makati to educate young people about smoking and its adverse effects on the body. The queens also pushed for healthier habits like adequate sleep and daily exercise.
Other Miss World Philippines winners have also been advocating for causes close to their heart just like Gwendolyne. Back in July, Miss World Philippines 2022 Charity Cassandra Chan, along with Miss Eco Philippines 2022 Ashley Subijano Montenegro, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Ingrid Santamaria, Miss World Philippines 2022 Top 10 Finalist Kayla Tiongson, and Miss World Philippines Batangas Province 2022 Shaina Rose Ico, visited the Mataas na Kahoy Evacuation Center in Batangas to visit children with cerebral palsy.
Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Ingrid Santamaria and Miss Eco Teen Philippines Beatriz Mclelland also took part in the Brigada Eskwela kickoff at the Pres. Corazon C. Aquino High School in Baseco, Port Area, Manila, alongside faculty members, local government officials, parents, and volunteers.
Miss World Philippines Tourism 2022 Justine Felizarta, Miss Supranational Philippines 2022 Alison Black, Miss Eco Philippines Ashley Subijano Montenegro, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Maria Ingrid Teresita Santamaria, and Miss Eco Teen Philippines Beatrize Mclelland also recently worked with the Philippine Cancer Society and the Rotary Club of Makati to raise awareness about breast and cervical cancer.
