Jackie Rice's dream role: 'Gusto ko ako 'yung pumapatay!'

After claiming the title of Starstruck Season 3’s Ultimate Female Survivor, Jackie Rice became one of the most sought after Kapuso actresses. Every year, she indulges her fans by showing her versatility in different programs.

This year, Jackie is part of the longest running comedy show, Bubble Gang. Apart from that, she starred in Bukod kang Pinagpala as Janet, which she recalled was a challenging role.

“Doon, medyo after bait-baitan roles naging kontrabida ako ulit. Challenging ulit ‘yung mga ginagawa ko. At least iba sa past na roles,” she shared.

Asked if there is one thing that she wishes to avoid, she immediately said, "Negative! Gusto ko(ng) i-avoid ‘yun.”

Her slender frame is also one of the things that she watches out for so she maintains it by trying to avoid her favorites. “Fastfood, naku sana! Sweets, kung kaya! Kasi mahilig ako sa sweets. Mga oily and pork, ayoko na ng pork, sana mawala na rin sa akin ‘yung pork."

Jackie also mentioned that she is looking forward to visiting her family in Kansas. Given the chance, she also hopes to visit “Bali in Indonesia, Balisin, Santorini, sana! Hopefully! And Amsterdam.”

With all the projects that she has done, are there still some artists she would love to work with?

"Well ‘yung makakatrabaho, di na ko magsasabi. Lahat naman ng Kapuso artists natin masarap katrabaho e. Loyal naman sila, and matulungin sa mga previous kong mga katrabaho. Matulungin sila in terms of acting talaga. Kung may maitutulong para sa character, tumutulong ‘yung katrabaho ko,” she said.

Her previous shows gave her the chance to work with veteran actors and she listed Michael de Mesa and Leo Martinez among those she admires.

For 2014, Jackie is hoping for a positive year mixed with busy schedules because of work. In fact, this hardworking actress shared that she isn’t going to be picky with roles next year. “As long as may trabaho, ‘yun ang importante," she said.

What is the one thing that Jackie wants to try next  year?

"So far nakapag-fantasy naman na ako, comedy, drama. Uhm, horror naman siguro. Kasi indie pa lang ‘yung nagagawa kong horror e," she said.

When asked what specific role she would love to portray in that horror film or show, she quipped, "Gusto ko ako ‘yung pumapatay. Ako ‘yung pumapatay sa takot! Sana meron na ‘yung ako pumapatay!"
