Alfred Vargas marks 43rd birthday
Alfred Vargas took to his Instagram account to share what he is thankful for now that he has turned a year older.
Born on October 24, 1979, the actor and politician expressed his gratitude for all the good things--both big and small--that happened to him for the past 43 years.
He said, "As I celebrate my 43rd birthday today, I am just soooo grateful to our Lord Jesus for everything.
"I'm grateful for breathing and waking up everyday, for my family, my wife, my children, for my friends, my staff, my constituents, my fans, for the privilege of being able to serve others, for the opportunity for follow my dreams, for being able to play roles in films and TV, for being able to inspire others."
Alfred also said, "I am grateful for the books that I've read, the mentors that I've had throughout my life, the schools (Ateneo and UP) who educated me and gave me knowledge, for being a Filipino, for JCI, for Upsilon, for QC, for district 5, for being a Member of the House of Reps, for GMA7 and all the productions I've been part of, the places I've been to, the food that I've tasted and all the lessons I've learned my entire life."
Alfred is grateful for being able to do his two passions at the same time: public service and acting. While fulfilling his job as a congressman of Quezon City fifth district, he continues his love for acting. In November, he is set to appear in GMA drama-sci-fi Unica Hija where he has a special participation.
He went on, "Thank you, Lord, for everything. I am so blessed by You, ibabalik ko lahat ng ito for Your greater glory by continuously trying my best to be a man for others for the rest of my life.
"Thanks to everyone who greeted me today. Special kayong lahat sa akin. Thank you for all your love and support through the years. Mahal ko kayong lahat."
Alfred began acting in the early 2000s.
In 2010, he entered politics when he was elected councilor in the second district of Quezon City.
On the same year, Alfred married Filipino-Italian Yasmine Espiritu. They have three children: Ching, Ary, and Cristiano.
