Alden Richards on 'Bangon Kaibigan': 'It's a campaign for encouragement'

In a campaign spearheaded by singer-songwriter Janno Gibbs, different Kapuso artists gathered together to perform the song, “Bangon Kaibigan” for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

Among the many GMA artists who took part in the campaign is Kapuso hunk, Alden Richards. We caught up with the talented performer after his “Bangon Kaibigan” recording last December 12.

The Carmela leading man shared that it is an honor for him to be able to share his time and effort for the campaign.

“Of course, it’s the least we could do, for us artists who cannot really go to the devastated areas in the Visayas region,” said Richards.

He continued, “In that way, parang we can encourage a lot of down-spirited Kapusos to fight for their survival after the devastating effect of Typhoon Yolanda. It’s a campaign for encouragement.”

The "Bangon Kaibigan" music video was launched in Sunday All Stars last December 15. The song may now be downloaded via iTunes and OPM2GO.

Signed "Tibay ng Pusong Pilipino" shirts which were used in the music video will also be auctioned. All proceeds will go to the GMA Kapuso Foundation. For more information, visit www.gmanetwork.com/kapusofoundation.
