Tom Rodriguez still has a hangover from My Husband’s Lover U.S. concert tour

Kapuso leading man Tom Rodriguez is hitting the high notes, and he is definitely doing it right. After releasing an album with on-screen partner Dennis Trillo and having a successful U.S. concert tour with the My Husband’s Lover cast, the charming crooner now joins various Kapuso artists in performing “Bangon Kaibigan”.
Composed by Janno Gibbs, “Bangon Kaibigan” is dedicated to our brothers and sisters who have been affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
GMANetwork.com caught up with Tom after recording his part of the song. The charming crooner mentioned that he is very proud and thankful to be included in the line-up of “Bangon Kaibigan” performers.
He said, “It’s a privilege because lahat naman siguro tayo, whether you’re a Filipino or a just a citizen of the world, we are all affected with what happened sa Visayas because of Typhoon Yolanda. I’m glad that I was a part of this.”
Fresh from the successful run of the My Husband’s Lover U.S. concert tour, Tom shared his experience and said, “Hanggang ngayon, parang may hangover pa rin ako sa nangyari. Namimiss ko ulit ‘yung buong grupo. Siguro kung maico-compare ko siya, parang noong nagtapos ‘yung MHL (My Husband’s Lover) na nagkaroon ako ng separation anxiety. Ganun din dito kasi araw-araw kaming magkakasama.”
During the concert stop in Lawndale, California, Tom’s family surprised him onstage. It has been two years since Tom last saw his parents and siblings.
“Nakakahiya nga kasi hindi ko inexpect na aakyat sila sa stage, kaya nung nakita ko silang pumasok, medyo nawala ‘yung composure ko. Hindi ko na nakanta nang maayos ‘yung kanta. Nawala na ako sa tono,” Tom laughingly shared.
He continued, “But seriously, I was really touched and I was really, really happy that my family was able to watch me for the first time. Ang sarap ng feeling kasi ngayon lang nila ako narinig na kumanta ng live.”
What is next for Tom?
He answered, “Babalik ako ulit sa States to be with my family for the holidays. When I come back na next year, start na ulit ng work. Tatapusin namin ni Carla [Abellana] ‘yung movie namin na Let’s Take a Chance and I’m really excited for that.”
