Even before their scheduled charity concert, Greyhoundz' vocalist Reg Rubio has been doing some charity work to help the youth.
In a pocket interview on Monday, November 14, the band's vocalist revealed that he has been doing some charity work even before the pandemic started, helping the youth in his “own little way.”
“Once in a while, I visit orphanages and every Christmas I go around Pasig and hand out food sa mga kids sa labas. In my own little way, yun po yung mga means na nagagawa ko,” Reg said.
He also revealed that he did not announce any of the work he's done before because he is shy when cameras are filming him doing charity work.
However, he had to stop for a while because of the pandemic and the restrictions implied during its height. But he gave assurance that he would continue what he has been doing.
On December 9, Greyhoundz and rap icon Gloc-9 will be headlining a "Rock for Charity" concert at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City. Both artists will be celebrating their 25th year and were tapped to do the concert.
Reg said that for him, the abandoned youths need access to basic needs while the senior citizens on the streets need access to medication. He feels that these are the things they need the most, especially if they're in the streets.
“It's really nice if we can help provide those things,” he added.
He also gave his observations on the youths he's met before, saying that they're happier inside the shelter because of they have their new family.
“I mean, marami silang orphans, pero may pamilya sila. Nasa isang bahay sila, may shelter sila, they are well taken care of. Magkaroon ng chance, magkaroong ng shelter, magkaroon ng people who can take care of them," he said.
