Anybody watching Kapuso stars Zephanie and Michael Sager can notice the chemistry between the two, so it's no wonder people are asking the question if the two of them are a couple. So are they?

On the podcast Updated with Nelson Canlas, Zephanie addressed their relationship, saying that the two of them are “good” friends.

“Michael is actually a really good friend po. And ano ba? We're really just friends and siguro masasabi ko po I'm really happy din na part siya ng buhay ko or nakilala ko siya and I'm able to work with him and sa mga ganu'ng events na nakakasama ko siya,” she explained.

Zephanie attributes their closeness to the similar journeys their careers have taken in the Kapuso network and how the two of them have been a source of comfort for each other.

“Sabay din po kami halos nagstart ng journey namin dito sa GMA and siguro nahanap din namin talaga 'yung parang comfort from each other nu'ng nagsisimula pa lang na wala pa kami masyadong kakilala. Pero ngayon ayan nahanap na po namin,” she explained.

The pair currently star in Sparkle U: #Frenemies as Sue and Marco, and Zephanie is not taking the experience for granted, especially since it is her first full-on acting experience.

“Ibang iba po siya, sobrang nakakapanibago, though before naman po naka-experience na ako na ng ilang mga projects na naging extra extra lang po ako nu'ng bata ganu'n or wala talagang role,” she shared. “Pero this time, nabigyan po ako ng blessing to really experience 'yung meron ka na talagang character and ang masasabi ko po na challenge.”

It's also in Sparkle U that Zephanie has been able to see even more facets of Michael's personality.

“Magaan siya po katrabaho 'pag talagang on set na, pag magtetake na seryoso na siya and nakikita ko po talaga sa kanya 'yung determination niya sa craft niya 'yung passion nandoon,” she said. “Na 'pag merong mga scenes na kailangan talaga ng emotions naibibigay niya po and sobrang professional ni Michael pagdating sa work, hindi siya nale-late.”
