On July 18, 2023, celebrity couple Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque got engaged. The most-awaited moment happened at Las Casas while Bea was there for a "shoot" but was actually the proposal.

The following day, Bea surprised her friends, fans, and followers by posting a series of photos showing Dom, kneeling on one knee and holding a ring with his hands. These photos also showed the actress's surprised reaction, tears of joy, the moment she said yes, and hugging her fiancé.

In her post, Bea described the unforgettable moment, “It was a balmy afternoon in Las Casas. I was there for a shoot, but little did I know that the next thing that would happen would change our lives forever.”

She added that photographer Mark Nicdao kept on asking her to turn around, only for her to see Dom on one knee and holding out the ring.

"You see, I have done so many proposal scenes in my entire career, but nothing beats the real thing. I have been doing it all wrong! Hahaha, Dom said his speech, and it's like time stood still. Everything went in slow motion. And I felt different emotions all at the same time--joy, excitement, love. I started bawling [swipe to see my ugly cry ], But I didn't want that moment to end. I want this real thing to happen forever… and right then there… In front of the people we love… we decided on forever.."

In February 2024, less than a month after their Japan trip, Boy Abunda confirmed that Bea and Dominic have broken up in his show, Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
