Engaged Kapuso couple EA Guzman and Shaira Diaz made headlines after revealing that they are propitiously practicing celibacy even after 11 years of togetherness.
They made the revelation during their guest appearance on 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda' on February 19, 2024.
King of Talk Boy Abunda commended the two for staying true to their values and beliefs, to which EA honestly admitted it was a difficult thing to maintain during the early years of their dating.
"First two years namin, umiiyak ako sa kanya kasi ang hirap, to be honest. No'ng time na 'yon, parang 'di ko na kaya kasi syempre, 'di ba?" EA said.
Saving sex for marriage is something that Shaira promised her parents which EA respects.
She shared, "Hino-honor ko po kasi 'yung family ko, especially my mom and dad. 'Yung promise ko talaga sa kanila na kahit iwan mo ko kung saan, eto buong-buo pa rin ako. And sabi nila, 'yun ang best gift na mabibigay mo sa magiging asawa mo."

In an interview with Boy Abuda in 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda' on February 19, 2024, EA Guzman admitted that it was difficult to maintain sexual abstinence during the first two years of his 11-year relationship with his now-fiancee Shaira Diaz. "No'ng time na 'yon parang 'di ko na kaya," the actor recounted. Nevertheless, his respect for Shaira prevails as he patiently waits until the actress is ready. "I respect Shaira a lot kung alam lang nila," EA added.
EA Guzman and Shaira Diaz first met when she was still a contestant in a talent and reality show aired in 2012 where he had a guest appearance. The same year, they became an official couple. In 2021, they got engaged but only in February 2024 when they revealed the happy news in time for their 11th anniversary.
