For Kapuso comedian Divine Tetay, he didn't expect his current relationship to last this long.

"I'm sure he's happy for the last 15 years and three months," he candidly shares in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, referring to his non-showbiz boyfriend whom he met in a comedy bar where they both used to work.

Tetay admits that he is really lucky with his partner now, and doesn't mind that he's not trophy boyfriend material.

"I've had relationships in the past, and they are all completely different to what I have now. They used to be trophy boyfriends, and I wanted them to be that.

"My boyfriend now, he's just a normal guy. He's not strikingly handsome, which is okay with me, it's not a big deal. I find so much happiness with this guy. Whenever I talk about him, kinikilig ako."

Every lasting relationship has a different formula, and Tetay swears by having open communication.

"You don't keep secrets. Just tell your partner everything, whether it's bad, it's good, or if it will make him angry, he has to know. You both have to be like that so you won't have any problem.

"He or she is not just your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife. There are times that you will need him or her as a best friend, and we're like that."

Despite coming from different worlds, Tetay's partner is supportive of his showbiz career. The comedian even shared a funny story when his partner accompanied him to a show.

"He's very supportive. He just doesn't like premiere nights, because mingling and socializing are not his thing. There was even a time that people thought he was my driver, and that my driver was my boyfriend (laughs). He is not offended at all."
