Nearly a week since they tied the knot, Joyce Pring recalls her whirlwind romance with husband Juancho Trivino.

It's almost a week since Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino tied the knot in Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City back on February 9.

And for the newly-minted Mrs. Trivino, she claims that her love story was indeed something that was destined by God himself.

“I surrendered my desire for marriage to the Lord, expecting it to only be a distraction from what seemed to be a perfectly balanced Christian life -- not knowing that, in fact, many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails,” she wrote in a tell-all blog post over her website.

“There are many people who thought it to be a whirlwind romance; sometimes I would hear strangers talking about us as if we were kids who were acting on impulse and had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. I don't mind, really.”

In her heart and mind, she knew that they weren't rushing.

“But I knew we weren't rushing, and I am also sure that we covered all bases before we decided to finally say our I do's.”

She then proceeded to tell how their love story officially began: Juancho sliding into her DMs, asking for her picture on certain events, and eventually working on the longest-running morning show Unang Hirit together.

As remote hosts of Unang Hirit, Joyce and Juancho would have to travel hours to get to and from their destination.

“We'd be stuck in Manila traffic for hours, rushing to get to our next work, but also sinking deeply in conversations about life, work, and God.”

And in those moments where her mood swings were off the charts or would drink to her heart's content, Joyce says, “Juancho never took advantage.”

“He would always bring me home, drop me off in my condo's lobby, then buy me coffee the next day at work, as if nothing had happened.”

JUST IN: Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino are engaged

The turning point for Joyce would have to be when Juancho looked past Joyce's issues with her family.

In her own words, “He was the first man I've ever dated that looked past those issues and took the initiative to message my family without telling me, revealing his intentions for me, and his desire to meet them.

“I was hospitalised, my Lola was hospitalised, my Lolo suddenly passed away, and so many other things happened in those first few months of dating -- and yet he stayed.”

Finally, Joyce admitted that Juancho's love was “too good to be true.”

She would then pray “for God to take him away completely” and yet to her surprise, he stayed.

During their weeks of pre-marital counseling, the couple would then continue to ask for the Lord's guidance for their relationship.

“We would reluctantly say, 'Lord, kung ayaw Mo mangyari tong kasal na to, please tanggalin Mo na kaming dalawa sa buhay ng isa't isa, ngayon pa lang.'

“If my love for Juancho will just keep me from loving and serving Jesus, then I don't want it,” she thought.

According to Joyce, that prayer was painful and scary for her that at times she didn't want to pray it.

“But I knew that a life with Juancho without God being glorified is not life at all.

“So by the Holy Spirit, we kept praying, and seeking counsel, and praying, and God answered in the most beautiful way -- through clear skies, both families' approval, financial provision, our church leaders' go signal, in His word, and the unshakeable peace in our hearts.

“We knew the Lord found favour in our desire for marriage not because it is what we wanted, but because through it, He will be most glorified,” she wrote.

And the rest, as they say, is history. The two got engaged in August and announced it last November.

The two are currently celebrating their first Valentine's Day as a couple and as husband and wife.
