Aside from house rules, Joyce said she and Juancho set-up their respective corners in their house.

“I think, more than anything, we've been really trying to consciously make an effort to make the environment healthy for the both of us,” Joyce shared.

“Meaning, we had to carve out space in our tiny apartment so make sure, 'Hey this is your space, and this is my space.

“And when [we] have to work, we go our separate ways and we work in our own stations.

“And I made a list of house rules, I made a list which he approved.”

Joyce advised to consider making house rules while the enhanced community quarantine is in effect.

“It's something that, I think, you should also consider putting together a house rules kind of thing for your household or for your self to kind of keep yourself sane,” Joyce advised.

“For me and Juancho, I kind of put together this house rules going like, we can only watch two Netflix shows per day.

“'Cause for three days, we were just sitting on the couch, watching Netflix the whole day.

“More than anything, I did that to be productive.”

The list Joyce made also includes exercising, controlling how much food they eat, and playing with their dog.

“And then another thing that I set was like exercise everyday or at least three or four times a day, even if it's just for a short while,” Joyce revealed.

“Kahit 20 minutes lang, move around the house, do a home workout.

“Another thing is I wrote down, 'Stop eating like you're on vacation, you are not on your vacation.

“And then, another thing, was like to play with Bowie, our dog, because we can't really walk him around the compound.

“So we're just stuck at home, trying to play fetch with him and making sure that he's entertained.”

In the end, Joyce disclaimed that she's not an expert in laying out some house rules.

“And the reason why I'm sharing this is not because I am a genius, or anything like that,” Joyce said.

“I don't think any of my rules were genius ideas but more of, I think in this situation, it makes me remember all the world-ending, apocalypse movies I've ever watched, it's like I'm living that right now.

“You have to make adjustments in your life to make sure that your mental state, your emotional state, and your spiritual state is just as healthy as your physical one.”

Powerless

Joyce also shared what Juancho shared to her what he feels during these trying times.

“My husband and I had a conversation earlier today and he said something like, 'I feel powerless,'” Joyce revealed.

“And I think a lot of people these days feel that same way: we feel powerless and we're trying to hash out our emotions in the thing that we're going through together.

“And I told him, 'You know, it makes a lot of people realize, it made me realize, that everything that you thought you had control of was just an illusion.

“Honestly, even now that we're making these house rules, you're trying to control things that you can.

“But most of the things in life, like how your health is going to be like, where you gonna end up, what's gonna happen with your career, all of these things, you think that you set some sort of boundaries and you think that gonna be safe for the rest of your life.

“But this COVID-19 pandemic just made us realize that at the end of the day, there really is nobody that's in control of what's gonna happen with the entire world.

“And the only thing really that we can control is the way we respond to it.”
