Being in a long-distance relationship is no easy feat especially with the restrictions on travel and physical contact brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Read on and take cues from Lovi Poe on how to keep your romance aflame with your loved ones despite the distance!
Being in a long-distance relationship is no easy feat. And with the present situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic that restricts travelling and physical contact, more couples are forced to keep their romance aflame while being apart.
In an exclusive interview with Lovi Poe, the Owe My Love actress shares five elements she believes are necessary to keep a happy and healthy relationship despite the distance.
1. Communication
Lovi begins with the foundation of a good relationship; communication.
She explains, “Communication is key. Kahit nga hindi long-distance relationship, it's important to communicate.”
2. Honesty
And what is the purpose of communication, if the couple lacks honesty? Lovi encourages LDR couples to be truthful.
“Be honest,” she emphasizes.
3. Trust
What complements the formula involving communication and honesty is trust. Confidence and belief on your partner may be built through the help of honest communication.
“Third is trust. Yes, trust is important,” Lovi adds.
4. Respect
For Lovi, it's also important to show respect to your partner.
She tells, “Without respect, there is nothing. Parang siyempre pag may respeto ka sa partner mo, the last thing that you want to do is to ruin that trust and to cut that communication.”
5. Love
Needless to say, the Kapuso actress identifies the critical role of genuine love.
Lovi explains, “If you're in love and passionate about that person, I think it's gonna hold everything together kasi nga kapag ang long-distance [relationship], kapag hindi siya solid, it's a waste of time.”
Lovi has been keeping a healthy relationship with her US-based British boyfriend Montgomery Blencowe.
