Mariel Padilla looks back on her marriage in new vlog

By Marah Ruiz

Celebrity mommy Mariel Padilla shared a very special video to celebrate a decade of marriage to her husband Robin Padilla.

The new vlog is very subdued as is quite different from the usual fun tone in her vlogs.

Mariel talked about plans she had for her and Robin's 10th anniversary. Unfortunately, these plans did not come into fruition due to a number of things.

"I'm a little sad when I think about it because I had so many things in my mind planned for this anniversary. Actually, in my head for a while, the plan was a renewal of vows," she shares.

She has to put that plan in the back burner as she carried their second daughter Gabriela.

"Like I mentioned before, Gabriela is really a surprise. I had no idea that she was coming. In my head we were gonna have this grand, parang wedding because I didn't get to experience that. I didn't get to wear a white gown, walk down the aisle and have my family there with me and his family there with him," Mariel says.

She also adds that it has always been her dream to have a grand wedding.

"Iba rin 'yung feeling na magawa mo 'yun 'di ba? Pangarap 'yun ng bawat babae and I was really looking forward to that. Kaya lang, nabuntis nga ako. Eh alam ko na 'pag nagbuntis ako, after ko mag-give birth alam ko na tataba ako. Kaya alam ko na hindi siya matutuloy kasi gusto ko naman na super ganda ako, at my best ako kapag renewal of vows 'di ba?" she muses.

Mariel also admitted that she already had a pretty solid plan in her head, from the the designers she wants to tap to create her gowns, the florists who will decorate the venue and even down to the food which will be served at the reception.

As an alternative to the renewal of vows, she wanted to travel as a family to celebrate their 10 anniversary.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic also put a pause to that plan.

Mariel shared the second part of her vlog where Robin pulled off a surprise virtual get-together with their friends and family.

"Robin is really grand. His gestures are always grand. It was very very Robin. I remember na I was so touched na naluluha ako. Ta's nakita ko nasa Zoom, tapos ang daming tao. The first one that I saw was my dad. Sobra akong na-touch kasi everyone that we were really close to [was there]," she recalls.
