Kayesha Chua speaks up on Scottie Thompson, ex-fiancée controversy

By Bong Godinez

Beauty queen Kayesha Chua posted a statement on Instagram concerning the controversy between Ginebra San Miguel point guard Scottie Thompson and erstwhile fiancée Pau Fajardo.

Sports website Spin.ph reported today that Scottie has tied the knot with stewardess Jinky Serrano in a private ceremony in Las Piñas.

“News of the wedding came months after talk of the breakup of Scottie and longtime girlfriend Pau Fajardo spread on social media. Thompson proposed to Fajardo on New Year's Eve,” veteran sports reporter Snow Badua wrote.

In her post, Kayesha, who is a close friend of Scottie and Pau, expressed grief on what happened between the ex-couple.

“We've been quiet since day 1 because it was their request to keep things private. Same reason why everyone knew about it just now,” wrote Kayesha, who is the fiancée of Ginebra San Miguel player, Aljon Mariano.

“Do not equate our silence to our 'lack of support' for our friends because you know nothing about the things we did for them. NOTHING.”

She continued, “She reached out to us when they were starting to have this problem, he did not... Things escalated, there was more reaching out to him but even AJ [Aljon] and Kev's [NorthPort Batang Pier forward, Kevin Ferrer] invites to talk were shut down.

“We never left her side. We never judged him. We were good friends but I guess he forgot about us too.

“I just wish he trusted us like how he said we were like family to him but he didn't... He had to make a choice, and he chose her... We give him our best wishes and leave him to it. I wish you strength because you'll need it. I hope she's worth it.”

Kayesha asked the public to pray for Pau and respect her privacy during this difficult time.

“What she needs now the most is privacy and prayers, please no more mentioning this specific issue to her because it's over. She deserves to move on. Let her.”

Kayesha wrote, “Hayaan natin na ang universe na ang magbalik sa kanila ng nararapat for them.

“Let's replace all our specific wishes of misfortune with one simple wish, 'We wish for you to get what you truly deserve.”

The former Binibining Pilipinas and Miss World Philippines bet continued, “Remember that you are always free to choose, but you are not free from the consequences of your choice.”
